About CitrusMango

The Need

It is now commonly acknowledged that ethnic minority communities, particularly the Muslim community, suffer from negative media profiles and frequent stereotyping in ways that have a significant impact on those communities.

A number of reports and studies have also confirmed this. The Preventing Extremism workgroups established by the Home Office recommended that there is an urgent need to build media related capacity in the Muslim community, in order to counteract the stereotypes that can lead to community tensions, increase the alienation of young Muslims and further the process radicalisation
