Handling interviews
You may be asked to do an interview about your campaign. To come across well, you will need to prepare in advance. Here are some things you could think about:
- Find out if the interview is to be broadcast live or pre-recorded
- Try to get an idea, in advance, of the questions
- Find out if there will be any other guests – think about how comfortable you will be with your company on a panel
- Work out precisely what message you want to get across – have three points you wish to make and not more. Repeat these points in suitable and original ways throughout the interview to emphasise your message
- Think about how to communicate your message in the clearest and most interesting way
If the interview is on TV, make sure you dress appropriately and wear neat smart clothes. TV makes casual clothes look crumpled and sloppy. Remember not to wear anything too shiny and its also useful to avoid green (that’s the colour now used by most studios for image substitution and effects).
